With the Christmas Holidays coming up quickly, it’s easy to let it slip away from you without having fun and accomplishing the not so fun things that you had planned.

Using these ideas will make sure you get the most out of your Christmas break.

1. Design your own Christmas decorations

Kids are probably the most excited when it comes to decorating the house for Christmas. They definitely get into it more than the adults do, which is usually a good thing as you may not have the energy to do it by this time of year.

Even as the kids get older this may be their job from now on and gives you something to cross off your list every year.

2. Bake Christmas cookies

As you teach kids to bake, make sure to scale holiday baking projects to your kids’ abilities and ages. Kids love mixing and measuring, but definitely, love the treats at the end. Try and simplify all the baking projects so that the more experienced kids can take the lead.

3. Make presents

Sometimes, homemade presents are the best presents. Kids love to make them, parents love to get them.

4. Check out any local Christmas events

Checking out the Christmas Lights in your neighbourhood is one of the easiest and cheapest things you could do during the holidays. Go and see a Christmas show at your local theatre, take advantage of any holiday deals, discounts and free events.

5. Go to the Museum or Local Attraction

Going to the Museum and other attractions during the holidays can get pretty busy as it’s usually the most popular time to go. Sometimes, many of them put on special programs for kids or offer discounts on entry tickets.

6. Read/Write books together

Even if you read to your kids regularly, try changing things up by choosing something a little different from what you usually read. Or even have5 them to write a book together and you can use that as your new source of reading material.
