We would like to introduce you to the adorable son of Emily Jones .... Cruz William Jones born on 4th Feb 😍

Poor Emily didn’t even make it through the first day of maternity leave before Cruz decided he was ready to come out. But I’m sure she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Both Em and Cruz are doing really well and settling in nicely 😊

Why does the dryer decide to break when we have a month of rain ahead? 😭😭 An unexpected large purchase can create a large deal of stress. There is so much to think about, including:
- how much is it going to cost to replace this item?
- could I repair it? Maybe it’s covered by warranty? - do I have the funds to replace it?
- I need to replace it quickly, what’s the best way to ensure that I get the best deal with not much time to shop around? - do I get the extra warranty? - do I spend more to get the higher quality and more reliable one?
My heads going to explode just thinking about all the options and considerations 🤯🤯🤯 First thing that I’ll say, is that I’m not the most savvy shopper personally. I’m not one to spend hours researching something (being time poor). But I will jump on to google and do some quick searchers and read some reviews.
But I can impart some other tips when it comes to these conundrum.

1) make sure you’ve got an emergency savings just for these occasions. If we were living week to week with no savings, this could have been a lot more stressful. I know there are afterpay or interest free options, but BAD credit should always be your LAST option.
2) Invest in quality. I’ve always been a fan of spending a bit more and getting value for money. Nothing worse than trying to save a few hundred dollars, only to have your new cheaper purchase break in a few years.
3) Where possible consider the higher star rating option. Our newly purchased drier is rated 5 stars 🌟 If anything, the old dryer breaking was a blessing in disguise because it was only rated 1 Star. Energy efficient devices can save you big bucks 💵 on your energy bills, AND help the environment!! Win win!! Do you have any tips when it comes to big purchases? Today we had the pleasure of telling a client NO a

Today we had the pleasure of telling a client NO and he thanked us for it.
Mr P contacted us today and requested that we send an accountants letter to verify his income so he could obtain a loan for a new bike.
The thing is ... we’re not just Mr P’s accountant. We are also his mortgage broker, business coach, and financial advisers (yep ... it’s a one-stop-shop here). We had not long worked with Mr P to set a 6 month plan to increase profits and cashflow, with the aim to successfully consolidate debt and save $10,000 a month in loan repayments 🤭. So imagine my reaction when another staff member taps my shoulder for me to sign off on Mr P increasing his debt.
In Mr Ps defence, his car had broken down and he was told it would be a month before the mechanics could get it back on the road. So he wasn’t getting a bike just because (well that’s what we were told 😂). So rather than sign off on the increased debt, we instead reminded Mr P of our agreed plan and strategy. We reminded him that if we did not have the patience and virtue to stick to the plan, that our 6 month plan may instead be a 2-5 year plan. Or worse ... his cashflow crisis would continue indefinitely.
We were very nervous waiting for the response from Mr P. But to our surprise he was in excited and relieved. He was so grateful that we had helped him to rationalise his financial position. He accepted our suggestion of hiring a car over the next month to get him out of trouble.
Mr P even exclaimed that we deserved a pat on the back!
This isn’t the first time we’ve said no to a client, and I’m proud of it!

I love that we can be there to help remind our clients of the bigger picture. Remind them of the agreed strategic financial plan to Fasttrack them to their ultimate goals.
Sometimes are clients may lose sight of their bigger goal ... and it’s nice to know that we can be there to pull them back on track.
I was so grateful today that we weren’t just Mr Ps accountants ... That we had a full understanding of his circumstance. Otherwise, Mr P could be the proud owner of this bike ..... but still paying an extra $10,000/month in debt repayments for the foreseeable future. 😳
